The Story of LUGHA. - Where Simplicity Meets Opulence in Sustainable Luxury

Our journey began with a simple question: Why are all the high quality clothing brands so expensive, and why is there never any minimalistic designs?

This led to further questions: Can simplicity be the hallmark of streetwear? Surely you do not need that much plastic for packaging? Can luxury coexist with sustainability?

It was within this dynamic backdrop that LUGHA was established.

 

1. How The Brand Started

One day, in the highlands of Scotland, a vision was born. 

Our story begins with a passion which was more than just clothes – we wanted to create pieces that stood out and created noise, quietly. Following in the footsteps of Scotland's heritage, one of the first countries to declare a climate emergency and leading countries in sustainability, all while embracing the modern world with open arms.

 Instead of reinventing the wheel, we wanted to go back to basics, what had been lost in all the noise of the digital era. 

A brand that is clean and timeless in both style and operations, representing the values of luxury, minimalism and chic, where subtlety is the noise.

This vision gave birth to MNIML, a clothing brand that is not just about garments, but an experience, the ultimate collaboration, Luxury x Sustainability, with minimalism that runs deep in its veins.

However, due to reasons out with our control we where forced to change the identity of the vision, just as things become apparent, then was the birth of LUGHA.

Set out to achieve high quality streetwear with simplistic designs, we wanted to be more than just a brand, we wanted to create a community that is overjoyed with our everyday staples.

But amidst all the opulence, there's a beating heart of sustainability. We believe in fashion that doesn't cost the earth – literally. Growing up my mum used to tell me "if you buy cheap, you buy twice" and this never left me, until I went to university that is... I found myself always buying cheap stuff and chucking them when I would move after the year which made me wonder, how much waste actually is there every year if you multiply mine by 8 billion?

We are steadfast in our commitment to sustainability, weaving eco-friendly practices into the very fabric of our brand. 3. Sustainability - Our Promise

We know that a lot of consumers, especially when it comes to fashion, are more environmentally aware, however, there is still lots to be done outside of fashion, little, minimal, decisions that can impact the bigger picture.

That is where we come in.

Now, LUGHA is not a 'green' brand so to speak and does not identify itself as one, however, we do identify as sustainable and keep sustainable practices at our core. 

This is why with every position in the supply chain, we do our upmost to ensure 100% sustainable practices.

We do our 'bit', but we want to do yours too.
